Spirit 001 — Spirit of The People
As Russian as possible.
Rye bread and pepper vodka on the table, a samovar of strong black tea steeping in the next room, incense drifting from the church down the street, an officer's leather-and-tobacco satchel left by the door. Spirit of The People opens dry and spiced, deepens into dark resinous smoke, church incense and cold green violet leaf, then settles into Russian leather, cured tobacco and black tea over a mossy cedar floor. Resinous, resolute and lived-in.

Ordinary hands, doing what must be done, again tomorrow.
